Installed Kevin's hood kit this weekend!

 Kevin, Very nice kit! easy to install... i am very happy with the results.

Plus, i was able to install a better hood on the truck! now i am waiting for the 390 to be finished up, had some setbacks with bad heads. 3 of 4 were no good

when i get the engine back i can start to pull the front end all apart, drop in the new engine and C6 trans, power steering AC brackets etc... clean and paint everything and put it back together. :D

Bill/ Kevin. How much is that kit and does it involve welding on the hood?

Don't even think about it, Skip! I'm getting the X on it for the Gulf Coast  All joking aside, it's a very well made kit at a very reasonable price!
It's much superior to the competition IMHO!

Its to late Paul. I already have the bug. Just getting ready for the reality check on the price. But I need to install it before I paint the hood. If you're considering one, let me know and maybe we can save on the shipping. Daryl will probably want one too.

If i had realized that it opened in normal fashion as well, one would be on my truck right now! It's an excellent solution to a bunch of inherent potential problems, and besides, it looks GREAT!

I'm glad to see that everything worked out well. That was my game plan.
This kit draws so much attention to the truck that I think otherwise people would walk right on by without looking it over.
And yes I have already heard from Skip.

You would be amazed out here in Phoenix. If it's not a Chevy, the only people that look at it are true Ford people but this makes even the Chevy people look because they haven't seen one.

Thanks to Skip, it appears there will be a whole row of them at future area meets  At the price of the "repop and modify" replacement hood hinges, you may well have a captive market!
I may have to consider a horzontal plate to further close up the factory gap between hood and fender!
