Has anyone a rear disc brake conversion? If so what did you use?

Measure the distance from the flange on the housing to the back of the axle flange......if it's 2.5", with a little work you can adapt the Explorer discs. Yes, the backing plate bolt pattern on the Explorer stuff is different, but it's pretty simple to weld plugs in the holes and re-drill to the correct pattern for the early diff. My friend Ken did this on the 9" under his '29 Essex coupe........

Yep , get the backing plates off a 99 explorer , you have to elongate the flange mounting bolt holes a little and the whole assembly will bolt up, OR ,if you search you might find somebody with a Ford Racing M-2300-G kit and it will have all the parts brand new , you will still have to modifie the bolt holes though. Or if you are goint to 16" or larger wheel I think a M-2300-G2 kit will work , and they are more avaliable.Oh and it will come with the bolt pattern you want 8)

Speedway Motors has several kits that bolt on or weld on to a 9" rearend. With or without emergency brakes.
