Sorry those trucks might be nice BUT Ford cannot even get the 2003-2007's 6.0'S straighten out yet, also some of the Body Companies also are wondering on how to lengthen the frames if they cannot alter the exhaust systems with all this afterburner junk putting on these trucks with wires going to exhaust system

JD, pretty much for '05 the 6.0L got cleaned up and runnin' smooth with the majority still having 0 warranty work. Also, if ya notice the middle section of the exhaust is alterable incase the length needs a stretch or shortening.
61, the superdutys are now only on their fourth front end update (99-00ish), (00-04) (05-07) and now the 08. Not too bad I think for ten years, keeps things fresh. Can say the same thing for each slick year being different. Also keep in mind it was basically the same body style from 80-96/7.

Besides, the company isn't exactly in the "spend extra money on a restyle" mode currently. They're currently trying to keep their feet outta the bankruptcy courts, so they're probably trying to make one bodystyle last as long as possible...which is easier to do with trucks than cars.
That being said...to me, this new front end looks like a bucket full of smashed rubber buttholes.

The superdutys have never turned my crank since they came out with the last body style ca. 98-99 They look like a Dodge bred with an International, IMO.
That last pic, Adrian, is just butt ugly, doesn't matter who you are.

I agree John, those "utility" trucks are pretty ugly. However, I am on my second super duty as a work truck and let me say that I do abuse it. I is one tough
truck! Only service it ever gets is brakes and oil changes. Unlike some co-workers that run Dodges and can't keep tie rod ends in them.
As far as the Ch##$$%*&y guys, lets just say that their so-called HD pickups
spend more time in the shop than in the bush where they belong.

I am on my 2nd 6.0 only for the reason is once the warranty runs out you better be ready for that major breakdown,, Before buying the 07 tried to find one of the 7.3"s with low mileage found a couple but where very high in dollars since they know people with 6.0's are looking for some other way to getaway from that poor choice Now so far on my 04 truck or the 07 now will out pull any dodge or chevy now I am talking about loading that truck down with gross weight of 32000 to 34000 lbs the 6.0's will do the job but you have to live with its problems the new 6.4's I would wait to see how they do,, & also one thing to remember is that all of the Ford 350's made in 2005 & up GVWR Where changed so some of the DOT Rules have changed with this truck so anybody having a GVWR Rating of 10000 & up is subject to all DOT Inspectors that are the same ones that pulls over the semi's that they can ask you for your medical card as well as the other stuff & without medical card can put you out of service & does not make a difference whether your empty or like in Alabama now anything over 10000 GVWR is considered commercial & using for anything must have name on door, this started in July 2006 Most states we run Dot inspectors say they target the duallys since most everyone is running illegal , This new F-450 is higher GVWR'S so DOT Inspectors will be looking for them next & if pulling a trailer check to see what the GVWR'S are on that combine both & see waht your plates are registered for cause if not you can a overweight ticket pulling a empty trailer & this is just the tip of the iceberg

Now that 6.4's have been out for awhile they have had several recalls calling them flamethrowers.. some still be held at the Ford Plant and now hear Ford & International going at it again, At Ford today someone tried to overide the 6.4 exhaust system and got burnt, Ford charged him 4000.00 to re do it, I bet he learned the hard way this time. Now as far as me Truck back in the shop 39000 miles and tearing the motor apart just quit on a exit ramp in the middle of a intersection had to call a Big Semi Wrecker this time looks like a relief valve inside the motor that controls fuel pressure broke apart at least thats what they think, Sure wished they leaved the 7.3 in these trucks Sure hate to have something else to go out west , if this keeps up Big Slick will have to do the job at leats its just points, oil, gas

Too bad only the junky diesels are available now, that keeps the 3-4 diesel tecs at each dealership busy for sure, I remember when I first started working, a diesel Tech was a rarity, was not a need for one being as how they never broke, then the next 5 years we had to have one or two working full time to keep the 7.3s going out the door, and it wasnt cheap for the customer if he didnt have a warranty, now they expect you to trade it in when warranty is up. ill keep my FFV half ton until the wheels fall off and still be able to afford the parts to repair it myself, and can still haul my car to the track

It was a injector that quit that shut it off, now running HOT, Ford says they will shim the alt. since they feel the belt is slipping 7 by doing this will tighten up since it overheated 4 times in AZ. Pulling this hill and the tow haul mode causing it to get 3 miles to the gallon when on

Better hope that diesel engine lasts a while. . . .
"Engine
• New 6.4L Power Stroke® diesel engine replaces
the previous 6.0L diesel engine. It includes a
135 Amp heavy duty alternator.
• Cabs may require removal to allow R&R of the
diesel engine. Wire harnesses and other aftermarket
modifications should be designed so the
cab can be removed for engine removal and
installation."

yeah and dzeus <sp> fasteners to remove the cab lmfao, or some quick release pins, stuff sure has changed so much inthe past ten years, I dont miss working on it for a living, spending half my free time learning how to diagnose all this new stuff, not to mention the cost of a rebuild, esp on a diesel. used to be 8 -10k for a reman FQR thats a huge investment on a 100k pickup with a dent in each cornerthemickeyd wrote:Better hope that diesel engine lasts a while. . . .

I think something is wrong with my browser. When I click on that link the pic. does open, but I think it opened upside down!
No, the pic isnt' upside down... Is that Ice fooling around with photoshop again?
My question to FOMOCO Brass is who was the idiot that signed off on that design change? "If we just flip the grill and headlights over, we can save millions and people will flock to this great new look! Mr. Ford? ... Mr. Ford? ... EDSEL!!!!... Now that I have your attention, I just need your signature to OK this design change."
