I keep looking at this 64 F100 for $1200.
I have the 390/3 spd out of my 76 donor that I can freshen up.
Is there a bolt in option to drop a FE in a 64?
Will the 64 column shift linkage bolt up to the 75 3 speed, or is the 64 and 75 3 spds different animals?
Choice two would be to save the 3 spd as a spare for my 66 and use a C6 with a floor shift.
Anyway, its a no-go if the 390 is not a bolt in.

Re: FE in a 64 F100
its a bolt in if you can round up the correct parts from a 65-66 f250 4x4 or f350- up with the 352
otherwise not.
you can get aftermarket crossmembers that will work with later engines and trans
otherwise not.

The 64 had either a y-block or 223 six from the factory. Both employed the use of a front engine mount and the rear was supported at the bell housing. There are aftermarket engine and trans mounts you could get, but it would take some work to ensure your engine and transmission are positioned correctly. You see this donw all the time, I am nit sure how often it is done correctly. The linkage may need to be lengthened or shortened, but should work. You'd also likely need to adjust the driveshaft length.

Re: FE in a 64 F100
I stuffed a 300 in a 63, so I dont see why not.

Re: FE in a 64 F100
You can bolt a 390 in as mentioned and the parts are not that tough but are not that cheap to find. You can't use the later trans as the bellhousings with mounts only work with the older 3 and 4 speeds with a longer input. I do have a 64 style and a 65 style available. The 64 uses the older style 4 speed while the 65 uses the same bolt pattern as a modern trans but the input is a bit longer. This swap also requires a Y block frame mount bracket at the front. Re: FE in a 64 F100
I used a bolt in crossmember for the 300, and the transmission I used was a short 3spd toploader out of a 70 model with a 390. I left the main crossmember in that the old bell housing mounted to. Hope this helps
