Frame swap questions?

I currently have a 66 short bed and should be picking un a frame from a 77 short bed soon. So what all if any issues am I looking at to mount the 66 sheet metal on to the 77 frame. Its a 4x4 frame if that makes any difference. Thanks for the help guys really appreciate it.

The width of the rear frame section changed between the bump sides and the dent sides. If your running a step side not problem. If your running a style side you will have to move the mounting bolts. The rear bumper will also not fit without adjustment.

I've got a couple motors, transmissions, and transfercases to choose from so Im not worried about that part.

Good to know Bruce what about the cab mounts? Or the ones for the core support?

the cab and front clip will bolt on just like the 65
bed as posted above
if you want your original steering wheel you need to find a 67-70 4x4 column
you also will need the 4x4 trans hump cover 67-79

So for the trans hump does that mean most if not all of the trans tunnel?

the removable cover
if your slick is a 3 speed or auto trans now you will need to cut the section out and install the cover
