61 uni F250 is Home

Got to take a closer look finally Saturday and found a couple of issues that
due to the weather while I was in Springfield I was not able to craw under the truck for a closer inspection.
The frame at One of the cab mounts is pretty rusted out, still attached but that will need to be fixed
some of the bed undercarriage has got some cancer also and
where the front wheels has been throwing water up, it has been rusting away and thru the floor boards,
but small issue on those and for now just took some black silicone and patch the leak so it didn't get any worse.

only one small spot on the exterior body at all

hope to get over to the DMV tomorrow for the needed tags and I can start driving,
really what to get that gear swap going also.

Isn't the base that mounts in the door on the chrome mirrors a cast piece as in brittle?
Sounds like he wants to keep Miss Daisy nice though - this kinda tells me she has a good home.

talked to them a while and they are like us,
he bought a 57 and wants to build a hot rod out of it and
just needs to thin the heard a little.

they've owned the truck for the last 12 years

will have it picked up next week!

Mike, nice uni,,, Did that truck by anychance come originally from Az.,, I looked at one many years ago just like that exactly down to wheels carb 4 speed piece on d/s bed at back,, it was on e-bay many years ago, just wondering cause if so it's very nice truck atthat time had small oil leak

I almost bought it for myself since I liked the truck but just did not have enough at that time, truck was very nice,,, It drove nice as nice it looks Glad to see it again

I've been in Tulsa for a job,
so yesterday with some time off I check to see how far it was to Springfield and 3 houors later I got to meet the owners and see the truck first hand.

man is that truck in great shape, no dents or rust except for a little surface here and there,
the interior is in great shape,
no issues with door jams,
the engine runs and sounds great

the folks they bought it from 12 years ago had a camper on the back so they bolted it to the sides and put the spare on the tailgate,
but there is no sign of rust around the holes,

he keeps in in a barn and has for the last 12 years.


Yep the trip was well worth it!









456 gears so they will be switched out when I get it home,
should be able to get the transportation booked come Monday when I'm home and it should be in Texas sometime the first week of May!

And the wife is OK with me buying Number 20 Ford!
I'm a lucky guy!
just meant to be a Slick member and have a great wife at the same time
