coil over spring rate??

What spring rate you guys running on your rear coil overs?????

alot of that can be trial and error. knowing you rear axle line weight can help a bunch. but for the rear of a truck it can be anywhere from 250-350lb for rears most times.

At the shop we order our coil overs mostly from Affco or RideTech. Both are good about allowing us to exchange for a different spring rate...ken..

when you say 250-350 lbs is that per rear corner OR combined? Just trying to get a ballpark idea.... Thanks..

per corner. different cars/trucks respond differently but you can get a general by knowing the "wheel weight" which is half of the axle weight. Affco and Ridetech both have charts of suggested spring rates based on the weights.

I really like dealing with Affco a lot on this as I've gotten to know Jay at Affco pretty well and he's always real nice about swapping if need be. Ridetech has never been a problem either though.

I talked this over with the other guys in the shop and it seems the standard opinion is the same. with these trucks having the steel floors in them and all that considered the common starting point we all think is somewhere in the 350 range for these trucks.
