Just added a factory grill guard to my truck and rubber bumper guards from a 73.
I am going to remove grill guard and paint.
I have to add the brace legs that go through the core support to the frame.
If it cain't be fixed with a sledge hammer it must be an electrical problem!
Looks great, Russ. look at some pics of those, I think there is a spacer b/tween guard and bumper.
I did not forget your items, still waiting to get them from my 'friend'
Thanks Steve!
You are correct.
There are spacers that fit between bumper and guard that are about 3/8.
I have seen them mounted with and without spacers.
Without the spacers the guard fits tight against the rubber guards like they where built to go together.
No rush on the fender lights.

Thanks guys!
I got the braces installed yesterday and it is super solid.
I am thinking of painting it white like the mirrors and camper tie downs.
What do yall think?

Nice find on the grill guard BWF. Now powdercoat that thang in solid white. To me, that would really look good.
Long live the 352

Hey, that grille guard looks familiar! Glad to see you got it mounted, looks great. FYI, on my '66, there were no spacers between the bumper and the guard. The bumper guards look good too.
Been going for the same look myself... factory guard with push bars. Don't have the guard mounted yet but just sat it up there to see it. On the 4x4's, where the drivers side mounting arm goes thru the rad support and down to the frame, the steering box is there so I need to figure out an alternative for that. I also have those chrome fender-mount turn signal towers and round signal lights to install as well. Just need a period-correct camper shell now!
I just love the fact that we can have an old truck and call it our "work" truck. THANKS!!! Barnie! been a long time and she will probably never be completely done. as long as I can drive her and clean her up for the cruise-ins I will be happy. I haven't seen an original guard around here but I love the way the "lines" follow our trucks.
