16X5 5-Lug Rims

Post by montego69 »

Hi all,

I'm to the rim and tire selection for my 1/2 ton 4X4 truck restoration. I've been looking in salvage yards for 16" rims and have found only three rims, actually on a bumpside 68 or 69. Everything else 1/2 ton is always 15".
Are these 16" rims super-rare? Should I give up on finding two more? Am I better off buying new, stamped steelies if I can afford it? What have you guys done?

Thanks,

Nick in WI

Nick, i would not give up, they are a bit hard to come by but the selection of available 16" tires is much better.

Thanks Iceman. I think I'm going to post a "parts wanted" ad and hopefully come up with a couple more rims.

Not the answer for a restoration, but for others, keep in mind that Dodge, Jeep, International, and others used the 5x5 1/2 bolt pattern through many years.
