Tuesday nights at work don't end until Wednesday morning for me. I work at the processing center for incoming recruits so they all get off the bus at 8pm, and 10pm. They get in the rack by 12am after we finish the initial processing. So I get home at 1am Wednesday. The pups still need to do their business at 0600 so I end up waking up at 0530 and take them out. It was "nice" enough outside at 80 degrees so I started putting tape and paper up in the cab.




Made sure to tape off anything that I didn't want this product on. Put tin foil in the threaded holes so I could preserve the threads.
taped up under the dash too!



Started spraying the sound control lizard skin on the fire wall, back of cab, and roof. I waited to the do the cab floor till the end.







It has been almost 24 hours now and I need to do some touch up's on some areas that didn't get enough coverage.

If you decide to do this, wear coveralls, head covering and wear gloves. Its a latex type paint but dang it gets everywhere. Imagine blowing a snot rocket.... that's how it comes out the gun.

bright and early this morning before work, I sprayed the ceramic insulation material onto the cab interior. I ended up with the white material instead of black, but that was okay. I can always top coat it with a color if I 'want.




For some reason I have a little left of the sound control, but zero left of the ceramic insulation. I have enough sound control to spray the inside of the doors... but will have to leave the ceramic out. I will contact lizard skin and see if they can make a "touch up" kit and sell quarts instead of full gallons. I used two gallons of material inside that cab. I am not sure why I blew thru so much for the same amount of coverage.

Next up- Door dents and rust. Time to get going on those so when I spray high build, I can block out the body together! Stand by for more.

Re-installed the roof support bracket with 3/8" frost king insulated tape between the roof and support. filled the gap very nice.




prepping the passenger door for mounting. will flip it and check the dents. i put epoxy on the bottom part i had to clean up better

mounted the door after I replaced the hinge pins.




started working on the rust here on the bottom of the driver door.




Didn't get done welding like I wanted to- Had to go to work for our formation run, but I had to cancel that run after it started to downpour on the town.

worked on the driver door a bit today. I finished welding, grinding and put some body filler on it.

Did some blocking



Gotta figure out what I am going to do about the face of the door. It had body filler in it before due to being bent/dented.

As you can see in this photo, the forward edge of the door (closest to the fender), looks as if it were bent. I spent some time with a dolly and hammer to work on this, but I don't know if it really helped any. Might be just wasting my time on this door.

I will mount the door in the morning and see how bad it is. I may have to go up and get the fender too and mount that so I can check it. It potentially could be a pain in the ass filling this door.
Each door looks like it's been kicked in before (at least since I blasted them).

I spent the day working on this dang door. Turns out my hinges are bad and I can not adjust the door to make the gaps fit right. I have a set on the way from a Facebook post I put up.

Anyway- see the boot print from when someone kicked the door?




This is sanded to 120. I still need to skim coat it again to fill some lows.

The door gaps were not great from the factory. I've always had to get them close and then adjust the edges with a little grinding and welding.

spent hours sanding that damn door... and the passenger door foot area.



I also worked on the passenger inner fender.
This is where the battery acid ate away with the rust.




cut the bad section out using straight lines this time!

Spent yesterday morning just working on the door body filler and also working on the inner fender.

I finished welding that patch in, and sanded down my welds.


I put some fiberglass filler on my welds and it has sat like that since yesterday afternoon. I don't have time today to do any work on the truck- it's a long day at work today.

Today I spent some hours on the passenger door face and the passenger inner fender top. I smoothed out the door, did some hammering, did some body filler, did some sanding.

Worked on a lot of different things today.

started by looking at my garage looking like this:



took about three hours to get it this way:



The work bench was a mess! I cleaned everything off and went to Lowes- found a floor runner that was 36" wide in the pattern of diamond plate. It is rubberized and was easy to clean. It was about $1.50 a foot. I bought 10 feet for the bench and used little tacks to hold it in place.
As you can see, the bench got filled up again!

spent my afternoon working on a seat belt set up. Not a fan of these belts, but the bracket I built will work for another style.

Today I worked on the front valance.



couldn't get a hammer or a dolly into the area to straighten it out, so I took a cold chisel and it fit in the area nice. I used my bench vise to squeeze it down to straighten it.




Filled the holes.

did some sand blasting today in the nice 89* heat...



there is a top coat of epoxy on the tops of those items, I can't fit in the garage right now with the cab in there too due to it possibly raining. I will flip them over and get a coat in the undersides.




Found this fabric online at Sailrite- Its called DooWop silver... I dig it and may get some for the seat inserts. Especially if I can get a boomerang headliner from Shadow.

Not sure why I decided to mess with the dang seat frame this morning. I did weld a piece of wire in the section that was broken/missing. Then I sprayed with epoxy... then I used up the last of my spray paint.

Put the dash and back sail pieces in High build.

It is hard to imagine you not getting this done soon the way you are going now.....
