Cold weather started here !

Big cold snap blew in Friday
About 20* all day today and a bit of snow
Finally got to give the modification of the wood stove a tryout
I built ductwork to direct most of the heat upstairs
Now the basement doesn't get too hot ... & upstairs heats up evenly


This is Colleen and me in old George about 7-8 years ago
I use to cut a lot of wood ....
Not so much now ... maybe 2-3 pickup loads a winter
Probably saves me a 1/3 of my propane bill

Looks good Pat, especially when it gets that cold this early in the season. My wood cutting days are over. if I cut wood like we used to I wouldn't be able to move for three days. I buy it now, it's enough work just unloading and stacking it these days.

I have a hard time starting my chainsaw
So I bought an cordless one
Lots of limbs to keep trimmed up around here
And seems like there is always a limb falling down every big wind
I cut them up about 5' feet long & put them on the UTV
Then we pull up to the buzzsaw .... I put a 220 volt motor on it
Flip the switch & cut em up in short lengths
Basically I'm just burning wood that was a nuisance
