Marti decided she wanted to visit Prescott on Saturday morning, so we head up the freeway to Prescott from Phoenix and when entering town heard a scraping sound and bang from the front end of the Big Crew cab.
Pulled in to the Auto zone store to check it out and jacked the front axle. The drivers side had some wibble and it was hard to turn so i pulled off the locking hub and found the spindle spanners finger loose.... Not good!
Took everything apart and found the hub seal in pieces along with the inner bearing cage and rollers all spit out.
The self adjusting cable had broken and wrapped itself into the hub, tore up the seal and the hook end grabbed the bearing cage and toasted it.
Auto zone never has real parts so i went to the NAPA store next door and Purchased new inner and outer bearings and races and rebuilt the front hub in Auto zones parking lot...New Seal, inner and outer races and bearings.
Nothing like a basic Home Depot tool kit to change out wheel bearings!
And i now have another four wheel drive spanner for a pencil holder...
I took some pics and will load them later.

At least that bearing didn't come apart on the highway somewhere in between.
I'd say you had some decent luck, in spite of the bad luck.
I've had a similar weekend. My daily driver (93 Dodge Shadow) just shut off on me on the freeway during the hellish commute home Saturday night. Ended up using a favor from a friend with a flatbed trailer & towed it home in a snowstorm.
No spark, no fuel pump. Really odd.

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.

If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!
