Windshield Transplant

Post by FreeBird »

I am swapping the windshield from my parts truck to my other '66. My homework indicated that no sealer was originally used around the gasket. However, both of the windshields I have removed had sealer used. So, question is should I use sealer around the one I reinstall? Don't want leaks of course, anybody with experience either way?

Both those trucks may have had the windshields replaced at some point in their lives. I'm thinkin' that maybe glass shops just goop sealant on every vehicle in the door, to lessen the chances of comebacks.

Thanks for the info, y'all. I was hoping that "none needed" was the right answer. That @%^& was a booger to clean up. Later, FreeBird
