Mooneyes "port-o-walls" ?

I'm thinking it might be cool for a couple months ? It might help me make up my mind on big billet v/s steel and white walls.

Hey they are not to my taste but check out Blackagathas pics by clicking his "profile" under any of his posts. He obviously thinks they are cool.

actually, jonno, I think he was referring to the faux white walls. I think they sound like a bad idea, what keeps them from flopping in the wind?

I love my rip-off moons though! I kinda wish they were the type that screws on, but these are much easier to deal with, and dont have to deal with tabs welded onto wheels.

my moons are the only thing I can envision Aggie looking really good with. And strangely, I cant envision most other slicks with them... I guess it's just the dull black paint that does it?

Do you have a tire machine? If you don't it will probably be hard to get anyone to take the time to get them on without wrinkles, if they do they will eventually loosen and start flapping. I remember back in the day when you could tell by the sound of a car going down the road if it had porta-walls or real whites!! The guys with porta-walls took a lot of ribbing back then. If it's short term just paint them on!

Yes, back in the day, we called them "flappers". I don't think it will take you long to "get used to them"......................

The "toilet seats" as we call em do not work on radials. The bulge in a radial makes em flap like crazy and they'll be ruined in no time.

Hey I had a full set or a couple of sets of those from the 40's or 50's.
I cant remember if I gave them away or threw them out.

I remember as a kid some guy turning a corner hard and his whitewall went flying off! Maybe it was defective

I do like those wheel covers on Black Agatha, save a whole lot of time on playing around getting the right rims and keeping all the little spots clean. Just wash and wipe, still looks good.

Shiny thanks for the link I have some 265/75/16 to try that with. I need to find some disk like that and try it out this weekend ! They were free so If I yuk em up no biggie.

jakdad I checked out the coker store, thanks. Did you see the firestone drag radials with the white wall ? cool, way cool.

yes! they are so easy to take care of. the only thing is they show fingerprints and stuff pretty bad due to the fine brushed finish. if you want em to be clean you gotta keep after them with the windex or something, or just dont touch em!

and it's funny, the rears have turned yellow/brown due to the exhaust blowing past. it doesnt come off with cleaner. maybe I should try some oven cleaner...

and they get kinda scuffed up after a while. I ought to go at em with some fine sandpaper and a spining wheel.

but they look so cool!

If they are stainless use vinegar to remove any fingerprints or discoloration. But you dont want to fix them up, it's time for a new set that would look SOOOOO good. Then you could tell me how much the shipping is for your old one's. You dont even have to worry about the trash guy not taking them. See I'll help you out
