Radiator for a 62 Slick??

Post by YukonCor55 »

I'm looking for a complete new replacement or a repairable old radiator for my 62 F-250 4 x 4. It seems that mine is too far gone to save. It leaks from the upper and lower tanks plus the core shoots out a few high pressure jets of Prestone if it ever builds up any pressure at all! Radiator shops in my area don't have any listings older than 1965. I've been told that anything up thru mid 70s F series will work but the original mounting flanges from the 62 need to be soldered on. Since I can't weld, I don't really know. Any help or offers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Yeah, I probably should have included that in my original post since it's pretty important! It's a 292 with a manual 4 speed trans (granny low)
Thanks!!

replaced my 292 radiator with one from a 65 with 352.
radiator bolted right in, had to get a aftermarket hose and adapter for the top due to the gooseneck on the y being a smaller diameter than the FE. bottom hose was from the FE.

ICEMAN: I think I'm going to take your suggestion and just order a 65 Rad from LMC. What did you use for an adapter for the top hose? I can't say that I've ever seen anything like that.
Thanks for your help!

the "adaptor" is a rubber bushing that fits on the gooseneck, and the hose goes over it. came from the auto parts store with the hose. maybe you can find a different size hose in your area and not need it.
