Hey guys. I am trying to get the single speed wiper motor wired up in my 66. All of the factory wiring is gone, so I am doing it from scratch. I can get the wipers to work, but not to park. They stop where ever you turn the switch off. Does anybody have a diagram on these? I have a 78 parts truck with delay wipers. Any way to swap all that over instead? Thanks!
Bill
Nah, they should park on their own. I haven't opened up a Slick wiper motor, but I know on other vehicles, there's a set of contacts inside (similar to points) that wear out.
However, if you have a delay setup from another truck...what's keepin' ya? Delay wipers are just the gnat's a$$.

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!
Hey, Bill, I am in Ridgeland, in the Low Country!
I can help you with the '78 wiper swap.
From the donor truck, you need the complete wiring harness from the switch, to the module, to the wiper motor. There will be one additional 2-wire plug on the back of the donor switch, with a green and a black wire - those are for the squirts motor. DON'T cut any wires except the hot lead to the switch, and the squirts wires.
From the '66 you will need the motor support bracket, the bellcrank on the motor, and the hot power lead to the existing switch.
1. If possible before removing any parts, park the wipers with the original motor and with the donor setup.
2. Remove the '66 switch, motor and wiring. DON'T lose the little clips when removing the under-dash wiperarms from the bellcrank on the motor.
3. Note the position of the bellcrank on the original motor.
4. Install the donor motor into the '66 bracket, making sure it is positioned the same way as the original motor was.
5. Install the original bellcrank on the donor motor so that it is in the correct position of Park.
6. Install the new motor with original bracket and bellcrank into the truck.
7. Measure the stem on the original switch, and cut the donor switch stem to match. (There is usually a bracket behind the dash mounted on the front of the switch. You won't use it in your '66.)
8. Connect the power lead on the switch to the original power lead in the truck. Also connect the leads to the squirts motor is they are to be used. (I still have the black button hooked up in my truck.) Be sure to install the ground wire too.
9. Install the switch into the dash, using the '66 bezel.
10. Wire the module and extra wiring up out of the way.
cool. got more pics of the truck? looks cool in your avitar.
