1 ton 4x4?

did they make any srw 4x4 1-tons in 64? there is one listed in the paper and when i called, i got the owners grandson and told him how to see if it has a dana 44 front end and he found the markings. he sais all the emblems were gone off the body. would the 1-ton, if they made one, have the dana 60? ill be going to look at it when the snow will allow me to.

the only factory 61-66 4x4s were f100/250.

anything else is special order, dealer install or NAPCO,etc..
f350 and 500 frames are the same type as the f250 so its a fairly easy conversion.

It would have had to be an aftermarket conversion done by Napco etc. I recently seen a complete 1 ton Dodge 4x4 front and rear axle and transfer case available at a swap meet for cheap.It was 6 lug a should be an easy swap to the F 350 which is 6 lug also.I believe only Dodge and International offered these 1 ton 4x4's in this era.

You could get a 4x4 dealer add on for a F350 as a special order. The vin will still start with F35xxxxx and not F36xxxxx as there is not a factory designation for 1 ton 4x4s.
I've seen two F350 4x4s (non Napco) on the computer and both have had the heavier 3500 lb Dana 44 axle. This axle has 446FC stamped on the top of the backside if the front differential case and have the larger Hub Lok hubs. One was a super nice F350 with a 9 foot bed on ebay a while back and the other appears to be original and is a turquoise 64, listed as a 63, on gallery photos on the darkside's (FTE) website. There is a 66 F350 with a Napco conversion there as well.
I think most of the Napco conversions have the differential on the right side. I do remember seeing a 1958 F250 Napco conversion with the differential on the left side.
