Longest Slick Owner?

I was just wondering who might Might be the longest slick owner ? Maybe someone bought theirs brand new? Ive only had my 65 for ten years.

I think Ray Baker might hold the record among the "Regular" people on this forum. The guys who owns the F-100 XL one of a kind drag truck is also the original owner of his 63.

My 1965 F100 was purchased by my Dad when the truck was 14, and I was 13. That was 1979.... so we have had it for almost 30 years.

Dad passed away in 2002, and that's when I finally got a chance to fix up his old Custom Cab F100, and make it look and run great. Dad was always spending too much time, money, love and effort on all the other cars in the family, and did not do enough for himself. I wish he was here to accept his truck BACK as a gift.

Bought mine 26 years ago the month before my son was born. Still have both of them but one doesnt live at home anymore...............the truck is in the drive way...................Ross

About 23 years? Have a picture of my son play sanding on the truck years ago when he was in diapers! He's now 26!!

My Dad bought his/mine in Mar of 65. It remains titled in his name, so I guess he is still the original owner. He drives it once in a while.

That would be still second place to Ray with his 63.....

I bought my63 in 1976. complettely rebuilt it engine and running gear and b rakes but didnt replace the rotten bed floor and my mother hated it and fussed at my dad till he returned it to me in 1980. Now rebuilding it again. don luster

Like 63 Army truck..I to got my 65 in a Army aution in 67 in Charleston S.C. the Army and I are the only owners...had it ever since lots of mod's and lots of changes...had 207,000 on the meter when I changed it all out..there worth hanging on to no matter what you have to do..

Dad bought the 64 in 67 and has been in the family since. I bought it from him in 87 and am finishing the re-build right now. Will be out of paint by next friday and trim etc. done by February.. So in the family for 41 years mine approx 23ish (dang am I getting that old?)

My dad bought his 64 in early 65, and drove it for the rest of his "driving days", and then gave it to me in 1986. I restored it mechanically and took him riding in it before he passed in 1989. Since then, I've completed the restoration. Mom says it looks better now than when it was new. However, at age 89, her memory isn't what it once was.

Maybe we could also poll who has had a/any Slick "in the family" for the longest time?

I bought my first Slick when I was 15 - a '63 F100 (223/T-18 ) in '74 - for $75. Drove it until mid-year '76.
Then I bought a '65 F250 (240/3in-the-tree) for $400; then sold the '63 ($50) running on 5-cylinders. Drove the F250 until '79; sold it $600 and moved from Michigan to Texas.

Not happy being without a truck, in 1981, I bought a straight-as-an-arrow SWB, '65 F100 (390/T-18 ) rust-free Texas Slick ($1200). Being from Michigan, I was amazed at its shape! I had the seat redone, replaced the windshield, and with the help of a friend, repainted it within the first year. In '85, I had a brass-bushed kingpin job done and then moved back to Michigan. I pulled the T-18 trans and had it rebuilt in '88. I finally rebuilt the 390 engine in '97 with a PI intake & cam and Holley and freshened the clutch. Yep, I still have it........ the '65 F100 has been in my driveway for 27 years.

Last September. I drove to PA and bought the sweet '65 F250 from forum member, Bob "Norville". Now I have two Slicks under my wing....
I told my wife I would sell the F100 if I brought home the F250, but the F100 is still here in the yard WITHOUT a 'For Sale' sign in it.

My son is probably one of the "longest" slick owners at 7'1". Or would that be tallest? I dunno... Anyway he has owned his '66 since February '93. He had just turned 16.
