Mild mod
Dont know if this would work or not but i had thought about taking the blinkers from the 65 grill and running two ducts to a 50's style air cleaner. Dont knw if they make those new fancy headlights that have the blinkers intergrated in them for the slicks (havent seen any ) but would be a mild mod and u can still keep your blinkers. I have thought about the third brake light mod that 's really kool

I really like that double scoop. It looks like they did what JC was talking about but they said they made it from scratch so we can't argue that.
Makes me wanna get started on one. They are cool but when showing your truck you always have your hood up to show off your motor then people don't see the dang thing anyhow. But it would make a great impression when you drive in.
I also like that double intake air cleaner. I want to do that with mine. Very nice in deed. Hope you don't mind if I use that idea.
Great idea with the hidden 3rd brake light too. Would it really shine through the paint though? Just asking, I'm don't know.
I see the primered slick had the bumper bolts shaved. We did that with our uni also.
Keep the ideas coming guys. I'm getting pumped. Might have to start working in the garage this weekend. Maybe this is what a lot of us need to get us motivated.

The kid with the Blue/White short with the custom scoops hasn't posted in a while. He doesn't seem to be posting on RC Groups where I met him as much either. His truck is his avatar pic there too. I do remember he is in college - probably busy this time of year.
I actully looked for a 72-73 Torino GT hood for a while, I wanted the scoop to graft into the hood of my 94 E cab 4x4.

BTW, I've never owned a Torino to go with this hood...a point my Wife likes to remind me of at least annually.
Looks kinda cool sitting on the Charger, though.

I have alot of mods. on my truck.I filled the front fender wheel openings 3" with another slick fender so the opening matches the rear opening shape.Nobody notices it!! I cut all the spot welds loose at the top of the bed and pushed it down so the top of the bed side would be straight with the tailgate.Nobody notices it!! Alot of work on both mods!! I also have rear roll pan and reskinned, smoothed a brand new tailgate and reversed the latch to the inside of bed with a 67 latch, which goes up and down.Because "Sir MIcheals" told me the tailgate on a 66 was too narrow to reverse. Filled all seams on the bed and cab.Took all chrome and emblems of and filled them.Pluged and filled gas tank filler. Boxed the frame at the rear,Made new floor and tubbs to clear M.T. meats.Ford 9' full floating rear axle with Detroit Locker, Richmond 3:89, 13" rotors,4 piston FMZ disc brakes,Alden Eagle coil overs.Made alot of billet pcs.,dash, knobs,Ignition key is even on a knob, pedals, door pulls, battery box, master cylinder lid, 3" exhaust hangers with delrin bushings,Radiator shroud (shown in picture above),overflow tank and brackets. Put in a 78 Crown Vic single lever tilt steering column, made a new steel tube for it and billet lever and knob,Grant wheel coupled to a 72 power steering box.Made stainless power steering hoses. 89 T-Bird super coupe power buckets and console, with a billet cover.Had to raise the console up 3" with a sheetmetal frame and covered it with leather.B&M ratchet shift in console hooked to an 85 LIncoln A.O.D.with B&M shift kit. My ignition module is under the console, not the hood.I have no wires visible under the hood. One for the altenator, and plug wires on a billet loom.Griffon aluminum radiator.Cleveland Power, all new tinted glass, Was going to weld a Uni-cab roof in it and didn't,it would have lowered the roof 3" without chopping it,should have done it. Nobody would have noticed it, probably. Sprayed it all grabber blue, and I mean all but the front bumper. Merle

I'm not sure about putting this 71 Torino scoop in my hood. I have one saved for this but just not sure.

Tim, if I may toss a thought on that.
If you do go that way, raise the stock indents so the hood is smooth, then ad in the whole "fenced" section front to back of the Torino scoop. It would be alot of work but would have a good flow & line to it that way.

LOL Merle, that is part of what he would end up with if he did it similar to what I suggested (look at the stock 70/71 GT hood). You have an excellent eye for line! I noticed the fender mod - sort of, I just couldn't figure out what it was you did. My hat is always off to someone who makes a mod I can't find but see. Like Troy Trepaneir says, "If someone says That is really cool - what'd ya do to it?, I have done my job!"prost66 wrote:Thanks for the compliments guys.Good to hear from you Tim.I think the scoops should be more towards the front of the hood, then fill the hood even behind them. I think it would look good. Merle

Taking the hotel manager for a ride was the highlight of slickstock for me!! I wish my mother had that much spunk in her,she was a ball. I still don't have a picture of it. She was hilarious, you had to hear her when I got on it,she had that hat on and it kocked it sideways!!!!! Merle
