Here is the first of hopefully many posts documenting the build of my crew. Pics first, comments later...enjoy!

As you can see I am not starting out with much. I think this will make things better in a way as I won't have to deal with the hackings of prior owners. This will essentially be a barebones build from the ground up.

Made a few updates above to show getting it off the trailer. I'm not much of a carpenter but the pallet was pretty simple to build. Some 2x6's, 4x4's, screws, and some swivel wheels with locks to put it where I need it easily.
My frame came this morning! I'll use most/all of this plus a little from another to get the length I need.
Frame
Got some parts to take off this frame as its from a F-350, was dually. I'm considering the crown vic swap for front suspension. Also, looking into explorer rear for out back.
For motorvation...it's FORD all the way! Might start off with a carb'd 302/C4 combo that I have but want to go 4.6/5-speed if I can figure out the wiring and fuel system.

Right now I am working with what I already have. I picked up the crown vic setup for my 61 unibody but never got around to it. Now that project is abandoned and I'm trying to reuse the acquired parts collection here.
Atleast I'm not welding in a volare subframe only to be let down instantly, right?
Time will tell for sure...and I will keep the updates coming as I can.
Cool another crew out there. These things are coming out of the wood work that's for sure. Keep up the work and keep us updated. I actually got more done on mine today. I will second the Dakota front end instead of the CV. Take a look at the GenIII it looks great. I know use what you have but just letting a little bug out...
64 F100 short bed-style side-460-c6-with side toolbox and Dakota Front Suspension
And a 65 CrewCab
Yeah. A little low for me but it is totally an inspiration for my build. I hit up shiny to find out what his wheelbase was so mine doesn't look stupid when I'm done.
Nothing new happening here right now, progress is sorta stalled at the moment. I have a set of front floor pans to install and got carpet for it too. These things will have to wait as I am currently trying to sell my uni (see link in signature) to get funds to proceed with the crew.
Also, waiting to here back from a guy (not a forum member) that I was gonna trade some stuff to for a parts truck...this is the ultimate reason I can't go forward. I need more parts!
Very cool. I'm building mine with a 66 grille as it actually is a 66 cab. Also, it's kind of a tribute to the first slick I ever saw which was my dad's 66 custom cab longbed which is now long gone.
The idea of a uni crew is cool but I'm sure you had to fab those back door skins and my skills aren't at that level.
I have plans to run the earlier panel above the grille...nice to see that it looks as good as I imagined. Thanks for the pic!
