Yep, Very Nice Truck.
Looks to me that it has the correct front bumper - nice to see.

Fellas,
Looks like the hood emblem is the 'lightning bolt & gear'. Assuming the V-8 was OEM, that emblem would be correct for '64, correct?
As I recall, the 'V-8' hood emblem only came on the '65-'66 trucks......

"Time capsule".... "Museum piece".... These are the only reasons it went for 31k. You could put 50k into restoring a truck to that condition with all NOS OEM parts and wouldn't get 20k. It's the suvivors that are bringing in the money.

B.J. is less than 5 miles from my house and I go every year. I've watched Cobra's that are completely trashed go for more than restored ones. More and more people are wanting original condition. Makes me wonder what my 70 LTD I bought in high school with the plastic still on the back seat would be fetching.... Heck, the clock and the eight track still worked.

The blue 64 is more of a representation of what is out in the market place, a very nice restoration on a very clean vehicle. These vehicles(blue truck) can be obtained more easily than a low mileage truck with an original paint job( beige truck) that still looks new.Buyers feel more confident in knowing the (beige truck) was garaged and never in a wreck and are willing to pay more.

What do you mean about the correct front bumper? Only asking because I'm trying to get mine replaced and want to go back stock. Painted white. Thanks.

If you tried to have your slick restored to the condition of the one at B-J with nos oem parts you would soon see that an original very very low milage truck at 31,900 was a bargain. Also don't forget that it is a museum piece that will never see the light of day.
Keep in mind that the $31,900 price includes the 10% buyers premium, so the hammer went down at $29,000. I believe that BJ also charges a fee to the seller, so assuming another 10% and the seller ended up with $26,100.

The correct front bumper angles the curved end edge back toward the front. rather than just being straight up & down. There has been discussion here (with pics) not too long ago.... you may want to do a search for them.

I've had my '65 F100 since '81 and not until this past year was I 'educated' on this forum that someone previous to me must have installed a later year chrome front bumper since my bumper ends are straight up & down...... Not I biggie to me - but now I do know it isn't CORRECT for a '65.

Maybe someone else here has pics at the ready that they could post that would illustrate the bumper differences I speak of.......

BarnieTrk

There has also been some discussion about some of the bumpers being offered for sale by restorers that have extra brace holes in them :?: - but I don't know the specifics on that subject.

That truck would make one heck of a fishing truck, but would need a traclock or you would be stuck all the time where I go.
