Just thought I'd share that mine came with a Dana 60 and a 4:10 powerlock.

Sure someone didn't swap it in? Thought F100's came with a 9" and the larger trucks F250's/F350's) came with the Dana's. What does the Warranty Tag say for the differential?

Looking in jbolivar's gallery is a picture is of his DANA 60-2, 5-lug, 5 1/2" rear end.
To confirm this is what it is, '60-2' should be cast into the top of the housing "on the snout" above the pinion gear.

From what I've been told, the DANA 60-2 is commonly referred to as a "medium" truck rear end and could be had with the 4.10 or 4.88 ratios with either standard, Powr-Lok or Trac--Lok carriers. Although the Ford 9" 3300# rear end was more common, many DANA 60-2 do show up under '60s & early '70s F-100 Slicks.

The axle shafts are 1.5", 35 spline, 5-lug on 5.5 bolt pattern. The RH axle is 29-7/32" and LH is 35-25/32".

The Bill of Material (BOM) number stamped on the tube, to the right of the diff cover will indicate ratio and carrier. A Powr-Lok 4.10 should read: 603137-5.

In jbolivar's gallery is also a picture of his Warranty Plate. It appears to me to be "85" under the AXLE section. Who can tell us if that is correct for a DANA 60-2?

Didn't look for a gallery as OP said he wasn't sure how to post pictures yet.
Picture in album appears to be a Dana, definitely not a 9".
The serial number indicates a 64, the truck looks like a 64 (unless the grill has been changed). The differential code appears to be B5 to me (only listed under 63/64 models, which would indicate a 4:10 ratio.

So assuming this is a 35 spline Dana 60-2, 4:10 Powerlock, it would be more than enough for a stock 1970 429 Thunderjet and C6? Also, is this what was used in the early Mopars? Thanks for all of the info.
