Starting on my new ride
I am starting on the work on my 1966 F100 white longbed. Goal is a daily driver that will still be a TRUCK! Not for show, for work. First thing is to get it drivable, the brakes are really bad. So the first thing is to change the master cylinder to a dual and adding power brakes at the same time. I got a bracket and booster/master out of the junkyard from a 1978 F150 and got a rebuilt master/booster from O'Reillys, gave them the old booster/master for the $25 core which is close to what I paid for the used bracket/master/booster. I am still debating on what proportioning valve and rear brake light activation to use, thinking about this. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku Well time to go paint my new booster/master and get to work figuring things out!
The GM 70s plunger style switch works pretty well in Twin I trucks. You can make a simple mount for it to attach it to the column, or the pedal stop. It is adjustable too.

Progress
No much progress yet, did some engine compartment cleaning and removed the "ricer" lights that were stuck next to the front turn signals. I have my new booster and master cylinder painted and ready to go in, awaiting complete front disc brake swap since I have to plumb the lines anyways. Picked up a intermittent wiper setup from a 87 F250 I plan on swapping in.
More work
Little stuff so far, removed "66 Ford" plates that were on cab and tried to remove red paint underneath and removed the "bigfoot" gas pedal. Put on the aluminum five slot 1980's factory wheels I got from "63bigun" when picking up Gritsngumbo's 63 F250. Added new correct tailights I got at Pate. Will post pics soon.

Disc brake sswap
Starting on the disc brake swap finally, got it jacked up and wheels off.
Old I beams removed
Got the old I beams removed, found out what the noise was on passenger side, coil spring was cracked in two at the very top!
parts truck
I had to move the green parts truck to make room for the disc brake swap, it hasn't been started in about a month, after replacing two flat tires with the "extras" from the white truck and doing some wire work got it fired up and moved, that 429 idles good! While I had the rear jacked up I checked and it does have a limited slip rear end woo-hoo! By turning the tire and counting the revolutions on the pinion yoke it looks like I have the 3.31 gears. Will be a good swap for the white truck after I drop in the T19.
More progress
Removed the steering box, brake lines and brake metering valve from the parts truck. Metal brake lines from calipers to metering valve look good and I will try to reuse them.

More progress
Some more progress as time and money allow.
1. Took the disc brake I beams and spindles to the machine shop and had the king pins replaced. Replaced the I beam bushings myself.
2. Since I am to lazy to clean parts took the radius rods, various big washers, sway bar and sway bar brackets to get them sandblasted and powdercoated.
3. Put the T19 in the truck today. Had to find a new throwout bearing since the one I pulled out was "noisy". T19 went in fairly easy with two people, one on bottom and one on top working through big new hole in floor. It's heavy and hard to maneuver around. Used Chevy SB head bolts as longer guide pins to get it started straight. Still need tranny mount. No issues so far putting T19 in place of 3 speed, everything is the same.

Progress
Making progress slowly pics soon. This truck will be fairly new mechanically when I get done. So far entire front suspension rebuilt, F250 Camper Special front sway bar in process of being installed, new brake rotors, bearings, calipers, Red Head power steering box, changed rear drums, backing plates and axles to larger 1968 2 1/2" drums. New rear bearings and seals too since one was bad, might as well do both and be done with it. Sold some stuff on Ebay so more truck money

Progress
Lot's of progress yesterday, a buddy with lots of old Ford truck experience came over and helped out. We worked from 9 AM until after 7 PM in tempertures hitting 100 degrees! New KYB shocks installed, steering linkage, PS box, brake hose brackets, removed front end sheetemetal and bumper for easier access for new brake lines and booster. Painted a lot of parts at the same time. Pics soon need new camera batteries!

Firewall repair
Still plugging away LOL. Was getting ready to do my power brake conversion but the firewall looked pretty poor. After comparing it to my parts truck I realized a previous owner at some time had done a poor job of putting in a power booster which was long gone when I got it, had a single pot back in it. The hole was elongated and the firewall brace was gone and the cab to firewall seam was trimmed back.
