Garbz: Love this mod - and had been thinking of trying something like this on my '63. Did you use pieces from a donor grille or just cut out the light support area & hammer & dolly the edges? I used the bars from a donor grill. and TIG welded it all together. I made up the radius's with additional 16 ga CRS blended in. I think they really spruce up the 63 grill. You can also add an upper valance from a 65 66 in lieu of the headlamp signals.
It has been sitting out in the back yard for almost two years now getting the correct patina.
I was out in the garage today working on the uni. I am thinking of having it read to bring to SS.

Honestly I've never cared for any of the stock turn signal options. I saw a pic of a guy with an early upper valence and a 65 grille who used the Lucas-style lights you described and I really liked the clean, no turn-signal lamp look. The way you've done it looks sweet - great idea & excellent execution!
