Looks good.

Jason, I am fairly new to the board and just read the thread. You do fantastic work and your truck looks great. Can't wait to see the finished product. Keep sending the pictures, I live vicariously through your work.

Still working out the details on how to mount. I wish the lettering was the same as Anthony's so I could use a wing nut.. Chad's ( 1st64bigwindow ) is mounted with a bar, I can't really do that as it will cause sealing issues.. I'm thinking I will cut a round panel leaving tabs around the perimeter that will snap down into the hub cap..

Thanks Michelle!! I'll trade you trucks anytime..

EDIT It just hit me.. I'll use two acorn nuts offset from the lettering with a "tee" down below..

Jason, you might want something to hold those threaded rods in place so they don't drop down into the carb. Epoxy, weld, or maybe a nut ran down on top of the bottom plate.

Don't have photoshop loaded on this computer or I'd add an arrow or something, but hopefully you follow what I'm trying to say.

I would like to take credit for the air cleaner I posted but I found that one some time ago and am looking for the same hubcaps to make me one like it. so far I have one hubcap like yours Jason. I thought of pop riveting a bar across from side to side with a nut welded in the center and use the top cap as the hold down. Just put on your base, then the filter, then screw the top cap down on the filter. That is my idea that I am going to try anyway. I liked the one I posted but I can't find any hub caps like those. your truck looks great Jason. keep those pics rolling in...... Anthony

dot, yes good thought. I'll probably just "double nut" it. Still can't bring myself to drilling holes in the cap..LOL

Anthony, If you want I'll get the part# of that filter, it seems to work well with the hubcap..

As far as the truck no updates, saving cash. Working on the plan for the front end. I want to remove a leaf or two, relace all the spring bushings, sway bar, and clean up the leafs.. Anyone have a sugestion on what to apply between the leafs??? (some say grease others will say that's a bad idea)

I did inspect all steering parts. My 6 yr old rocked the wheel while I inspected, everything looks good, Bonus! He then demanded I rock the wheel while he got on the creeper and looked around. He agreed all looked good but said there was a big problem...... "the rear wheels are not steering"

I read in a 4x4 mag (don't remember which one), moly grease is what to use between leafs. I am currently rebuilding my leafs as well, and did a little research on it. But the spring shop that I called about rebuilding my leafs for me said "It's not necessary to have anything between 'em", I don't know if I believe that or not, that's probably why I'm not having them rebuild mine. But the moly grease sounds like a good idea to me, so I plan to use that.

I was under the impression that there were thin rubber pads between the leafs. Haven't done mine yet.

Jason, your air cleaner is cool. Looks like it wold have some clearance issues though. You could always use the hupcap on top and an open element air cleaner base for the bottom.

I also think grease would collect too much road debree.

I think I will try a product called Brake Life http://www.castlepackspower.com/Catalog ... elife.html
I have used it alot on air brake parts. It is a silicone based lubricant that does not collect dirt.

Greg, It should be OK. I still need to cut the hole. In the photo it sits high.

Figure out what size air filter you need, measure the diameter you will need to sit inside the rolled edge of the hubcap.

Most auto parts stores will let you look at the filters, measure what they have to find one that fits.

I replaced my front wheel cylinder's. I attempted to hone & rebuild last summer but they were beyond repair..

I finally got down to dad's shop and got Sylvia on the lift to take care of a few things..

If anyone meets the PO of my truck send him my way... He installed two u-joints so that they can't be greased....

Not a whole lot going on other than I've been driving it alot.. :steering:

Here is a couple pics including my plate holder I posted earlier.. I am quite pleased with the seat and the mirrors..The seat needs a good scrubbing but got a good deal for $20.00. My goal this fall is to get a coat of epoxy on it.

Nice looking seat. $20? That was a steal.

No it was on Craigslist. I got lucky with it. It was located near one of our shops. The PO droped it off for me, then a guy from work brought it back to the shop I am at. So for $20 was delivered to me.. :D It needs a trip to the car wash it it nasty dirty but will clean up nice..

I do need to get up to that yard though, they say it is packed full of clunkers...
