I think it's time to R & R that seat Doc. Needing wire cutters to get the dog out of the truck will eventually become inconvenient. The next thing you lance may not be a boil.

Yeah, I agree. It is alright to lance a boil, but there are some things I don't want lanced. And seriously, one date, would that be so bad. I would go on a questionable date for a seat. My wife prolly would too. :)
But if you aren't ready, may I suggest the rebuilding power of cardboard? Some forward thinker along the way used that on momma's Ford. The foam was wore away on the driver's side, so they slipped a piece of card board under the original cover, and slapped another cover on the truck. It is semi-supportive, and no springs!!!! :)
I mean seriously, how much is your dogs happiness worth to you?

By the colorful insight into your well worn dilemma, you could get the seat recovered but put a zipper in it for the times when you want to take a drive down memory lane... with Kennie of course! luck.gif

Hey Doc,

As I remember the first time I saw that seat about two years ago, it should have been gone. Beside that, he doesn't look all that bad, so maybe she might not scare you off. Of course, you could wear some horse type blinders and stare straight ahead. If you load up with beans beforehand, you may be safe anyway. The things we have to do for our pickups is amazing.

You could just pad a piece of plywood and lay it on top of your old seat or may I suggest 2- 5 gallon spackling buckets and go with bucket seats.

Reminds me of the guy who took a Cessna on a test flight after some maintenance and didn't have the seat bolted to the tracks. As soon as he pulled back on the yoke and got the nose up, he slid all the way to the luggage compartment. Plane crashed, pilot killed.

My point is: BOLT THAT BUCKET DOWN BEFORE YOU PULL THE NOSE OFF THE GROUND!

If the dog is disappearing in the seat, I think I would avoid loose fitting shorts in that seat. :( :cussing:
