Dave, my local Baker's sells it. I can pick you up one if you like. There is a real nice pic of you and your 65 in the article too. I'll PM you my cell.
This is funny, My subscription copy had a couple pages kind of stuck together. I didn't even see the first 2 pages (where my truck is) til the second day I had the magazine, LOL.

Subscriber copies usually come first. I was at a B&N yesterday and the CCT on the shelf did not have anything in it.

Can someone tell me what 'month' it is on the cover?

I just got my issue today. John and his crew did a great job with the photos and the writeup. Should generate some extra interest in the next SS.

Just got mine today. GREAT JOB guys! Congratulations to Gerry, Greg, Kid and everyone else who made SS-III such a success. Also, thanks to John Gilbert for the great job of including the story and photos in CCT. It "almost" makes me want to host another one in York ;-)

Thanks...Sinc

Thanks John Gilbert for such a good article.
But there is another person responsible for the excellent coverage of our event.
Its time for all of us to say a thank you to the man who took the pictures you all see in the article.
Most of the submissions were great pictures, but the format was to small to use in a magazine publication.
When you're shooting for a magazine spread, you need the highest quality you can get. I'm talking mega-pixles here.
Ask me how I know....
Like horsepressure, if big is good, bigger is better.
Those presses need high resolution for the printing process.
So, it was our own quiet (sometimes), unassuming, beer drinking, chili eating Max, who is by trade a professional photographer, is solely responsible for the pictures in John's spread.
And it should also be noted that the magazine is required to pay for submissions that are published.
Max generously donated his payment to the Slick Stock IV fund to the tune of several hundred dollars.
Max, thank you bro'.
But remember, no good deed goes unpunished.
And for the rest of us, in the future, if you're going to take photographs of a get together or project that you want to submit to a magazine, use the highest resolution your camera is capable of.
Trust me...... 8)
U@ss
I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?

Thats great that Slick Stock got such good coverage. I know John has also been good on the Yblocksforever website site too from time to time concerning coverage on that engine too in CCT. I've never met him but from what my Uncle told me at the SEMA show last year he was great to talk with and listened to what you had to say.

Muchas Gracias Hombres, but I have to admit to everyone what I told Darrell the other night in Sunday chat. It was John Gilbert's idea to donate the money to Slickstock before he even wrote the article and I completely agreed with it. It was a great idea.

Honestly, I probably would've ended up putting every dime of that into my gas tank on my way to Iowa next year! But deep down, I feel better about the end result because I wouldn't have even had the opportunity to take ANY pics had there not been an awesome event like that to attend and I had a lot of fun doing it.

I believe there were a few other pics shown that weren't mine, hence the "Slick Sixties Crew" tag.

Got mine!

Post by Truckrat »

Mine showed up yesterday in the mail, Yay!!! What a great article! Congrats to John Gilbert, Max for the great shots, and whoever from Canada (Mark, Dean, or John) who wrote the text. I am especially in someone's debt for putting my handsome mug in those pictures. You just don't know how happy you made an old fart like me by doing that. Thanks to all. TR
