I don't know, that's a good question though. That'd be a pretty cool hauler though. I wonder what it'd cost me to get it down to the lower 48?
Here's the only thing I could find about it doing a google search. I noticed someone said something about a chiltons manual from that era. I have a few buried someplace in the garage. I'll dig them out tomorrow and see what I can find.

The truck is either a 6,000 or 7,000 series. These trucks were primarily used as city delivery trucks. They used the 330 cubic inch Ford diesel that produced 112 HP. The engine was made in England by a subsidiary of Ford at the Dagenham plant and was commonly called a Dagenham engine. There was another Small diesel that was used in these trucks but I can't remember who made them. Let me do a little research and I will try and find a little more information on it for you. In the later years of the N series trucks there was an 8,000 series added and it used the 6V 53 Detroit engine in them.

I did a little more research and this is what I found the early model N 6000 and 7000 used the Dorset engine and the later models from about 65 used the Diagenham engine. The Dorset engine and the Diaganham are basicly the same engine, IE they look alike the Dorset is 330 CI and the Diaganham is 363 CI. Both are inline 6 cylinder. They were make in Dorset and Diaganham England respectively. I was given this information by a friend that has owned a couple of these trucks albeit I have seen the 330 CI engine listed in some late sixties brochures.

Thanks agian for all the detailed information Michelle, the forum is very fortunate to have you. I will add these small desiels (330ci) were also used in the C series (1957-1991) in the 6000 and 7000 series during the mid 60's.Ford did not install them in slick F series conventionals (mistake my opinion) because they believed the market was only for compact city delivery trucks.Ford also had a 220ci 4 cylinder desiel for parcel delivery trucks.

It appears that it has two tachs. It is an air brake truck so the left side should be an air pressure gauge. Or is the left a vacuum gauge? Which would mean the truck is not an air brake truck

ford diesel
Must be for a vacume pump for the brakes, if I recall correctly diesel's don't have vacume, or am I wrong.

i am disturbed by that pic after checking it out tooUnibodyguy1 wrote:Must be for a vacume pump for the brakes, if I recall correctly diesel's don't have vacume, or am I wrong.

diesels make no vacuum. they need a vacuum pump to operate a brake booster.
if there is air brakes there is supposed to be an air pressure gauge on the left and there will be an air compressor mounted on the engine.ford would not have put in a vac gauge for air brakes.
i also cant see any brake cans in the pics but none of the angles are good enough to determinefor sure.
there appears to be some type of gauge where the radio is supposed to be , not sure what it is.
did find info on the dagenham/dorsets in the ford diesel section of my 60-68 truck motors manual.

Re: Year
Yes, you are correct, the 66 and 67 had the raised roof without the reflectors or marker lights. This particular truck is a 66 model built in June of 66.bluebolt wrote:Michelle, is this a 1966 or 1967 since it is the high roof wihout hood reflecters?
