Holy crap
I'm assuming that that one is not plastic.
The one in my CC is plastic...I found that rather odd.
So are the vent doors in the kick panels.
I thought CC meant top of the line, so why the plastic parts?
My other plain jane slick is all steel.

it is plastic.
65/66 2wd cc instrument panels were plastic, f350s and 4x4s cc still got the round speedo metal panels.
vents turned to plastic, cheaper and no pull cables to open them.
some of the bigger trucks and 4x4s have the pull vent on one kickpanel and the plastic on the other.

I just bought a new bezel and plastic lens from carolina-classics for $150. I think DC is making them. I saw them on dispaly at the supernats in 2007 and DC said they were coming soon. Ive been waching the sites and they finally came in. I ordered from Carolina just because they actually had the pic on their site. Same price as from DC. I like a pic, so I know what I'm getting. I got mine about 2 weeks ago and it is sharp!

Its my opinion that somebody got scammed for that much I really believe nobody would pay that much for a item that was used and what goes on behind closed doors after you will get a call out of the blue saying first winner could not pay so your next,, I know cause this just happened to us on buying a truck casue the next 2 in front of me came up with a suppose excuse from to the seller especially since one buyer was less than 100 mile away and was going to give 800.00 more than me so I smell a rat here only my opinion only

I saw a 64 chrome panel with the knob bazel and i wanted it bad. I got my mind made up I was going to get it and ended up bidding crazy high and it ended up going for over 400.00
So i did end up getting one In fact two. So i cleaned the second one up and the bazel too and put them on ebay and got 80.00 and i think it looked better than the 400.00 one. but i considered 80.00 a good price and went away happy .You never can tell about ebay.

There's gotta be somebody running the bids of these things up...
If they're really selling for that, I think I'll buy a couple from DC/CC and see if I can't resell it.

Chris & I were talking about these today. He was watching the auctions and said they started with a pretty cheap price. It's not the sellers fault they got bid so high - just sayin.

I kinda feel sorry for the guy who wins one at 500-600+ dollars then joins this group and finds this thread.

as long as the seller isn't some how involved with pushing the price up through a straw bidder, then fair is fair. he does list them as repops in large print at the top of the item description.
that being said, there is no way in hell i'd pay that kind of jack for one.
