I need to find the VIN number on my truck to compare to the title. It's a 62 UNI. There's a plate on the door with a number similar to the one on the title but there are differences in a letter and 3 numbers. It says on the plate "not for title or registration purposes" Is this still the VIN?
Where on the truck would the VIN be stamped?

on top of the frame rail....on the passenger side.....just above the front axle
