New Ford only truck magazine coming out!

Post by john gilbert »

This is early breaking news: October 16, 09 was my last day as the editor of Custom Classic Trucks, I resigned, but will stay on as a freelance tech editor every month for CCT. The news about the new all Ford truck magazine coming out is a worldwide exclusive for this site. It's being produced by LMC Truck in conjunction with SIM's Rod & Restoration group and distributed by Source Interlink, the 3rd largest distributor in North America. The R&R group publishes Custom Classic Trucks, Classic Trucks, Rod & Custom and Street Rodder. I've been hired as a freelancer to be the editor of LMC Truck's Ford magazine, and I'll keep you guys posted on the progress, and what day the magazine will hit the newsstand. I'm also the editor of LMC Truck's new Chevy & GMC magazine. It's no secret I have Ford, Chevy and GMC trucks, and it sure ain't no secret, I'm not a fan of Chevy motors in Ford trucks.

Congratulations on the new gig John. CCT is going to be a little lacking without your editorial though, lol.

John. Congrats on the new gig! I hope all goes well, how does one go about finding info on the new mag?

Man first there was nothing for ford truck guys, now there are two choices! I haven't subscribed to 2 magazines since the seventies!
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

Hey, thanks a lot you guys for the congrats. I was working not 24/7, but at least 12-16/7. Had to slow down before my brain popped. The two big bosses in the group, are the best there is, and lined me up with enough freelance assignments to stand a chance of making it. In spite of being a ruthless media empire with corporate hatchet men at the very top, there are some good people at the company.

The new LMC Truck magazine has a title, but I'm not sure if it has been trademarked so I won't reveal it until I know. Tomorrow is the first day for me to rock and roll on the Chevy mag, and I think it hits the stands in January, I'll know more this week. Not much time to develop a magazine. I spent about a year off and on when I created Tailgate magazine for Easyriders before it launched. Thankfully I have more time to do the ground work for the Ford magazine. I'll ask the folks at LMC Truck when the on sale date is supposed to be. It's only going to be for sale on newsstands, but they are going to print 100,000 , or so copies more than what gets printed for CCT, or CT so it should be pretty easy to find.

Oh, and Greg, I know I'll be writing an editorial, we'll see what they let me get away with. I know our lifestyle of repairing, and upgrading older vehicles instead of buying new Korean toasters and driving 'em is under attack. That will be a part of my editorials for sure. We'll see how the rest of it goes.

Talk to you later, man.

Good for you John. I am sure your new projects will be first class all the way. Your enthusiasm is shared by many here. Would love to help you out with some remote stuff up in this neck of the woods once you are settled. Lots of good tin north of the 49th.

Since I'm now a freelancer, and hopefully have more control over my time, I'd love to get back to Alberta, and BC sometime soon. Either way I want to get some Canuck tin into the mix.

I'm not leaving CCT completely, I'll be doing tech stories in every issue, and maybe few other misc. things.

This Tuesday I'm lifting Agent Orange (A '68 GMC) up in the air and installing an LMC Truck Suburban tank in the rear for LMC's Chevy magazine.
