Got a really nice 66 grille and fender from a wrecking yard

Post by TxSlick66 »

The truck had been sitting in that same spot for probably 20 years and was really picked over. Couldn't figure out why that nice grille was still there... FOUND OUT.
Rusted bolts. Between my helper and me, we spent two hours getting that baby off. Had to take that filler that goes under the grille also, using a tire tool and a hammer to get it busted loose from the rusted out core support.

One of these days I can grind the bolt heads off and then will have a nice grille. My 66 has a 65 grille on it, so if anyone needs one, let me know. It will be a while before I pull it for the paint job, but it is here.

This is the third 66 grille I have attempted to buy in the last 30 days. Found a steel one (what I really wanted so I could chrome it) on ebay, won the auction, then the guy's $40 shipping price was exceeded by $80 and couldn't make the transaction work out. The Thursday I saw a NOS Ford 66 grille in the box on ebay and hit the $550 buy it now button. The guy emails and says he already sold it! What a turd. At least they both refunded the paypal payments.

It is really in pretty good condition. Not show quality but a nice driver. I wish I had found you before I pulled that 66 grille. I can get pics if you are interested in a swap. Is yours aluminum or steel? The one I pulled was aluminum painted flat black!

65 / 66 grille

Yea, too bad you didn't post earlier etc we could of just swapped and split the shipping.

I'm not sure if mine is Steel or Aluminum, you mean they made both or is one material the Factory one?

I haven't looked at mine closely I don't think it has any dents.

YES, send me some close up and different angle shots of the grille, and if you are interested in a swap and split the shipping costs,

da da . well then that really wouldn't be necessary would it since you would pay to send yours and i send mine : ) , dang not awake yet!

UNFORTUNATELY I don't know how to send photos via IMPORTING them, BUT if necessary if you send me your mailing address to my WORK email

JHEWITT@SNAPPER.COM

I can send you hard copy photos,
PUT IN THE SUBJECT LINE ADDRESS FOR 65 GRille

This weekend I'll be taking photos and mailing out for other issues.

If your swap doesn't work out let me know. I've got a '65 grill in great shape I'd trade for '66.
