Mounting door panels

Post by ClanCassidy »

Hi everyone,

I'm getting to mount new door panels in my truck which did not originally come with them. This means I need to drill holes for the mounting clips to go into  The idea of drilling into perfectly good doors is a bit alarming.

My plan is to remove the clips, put a small dab of blue silicone where they go on the trim, push the new panel against the door leaving blue spots on the door. I'll then drill a hole at each blue spot and mount the panels.

Anybody have a better idea ? I really don't want to screw this up. Also, anybody know what size holes I should be drilling ?

thanks.

John.

Press the panels against posterboard and then make a template to use for drilling your holes out of the posterboard.
