I am now in the Cattle Hauling Business

Post by Michelle »

Life is moving fast, I am now in the cattle hailing business, or at least in the movies I am. Here are a few pictures I made today while sitting around waiting for them to call me to the set. The pays not to bad, 500.00 dollars a day for sitting around. They filmed the scene with the big Slick this afternoon in the rain. The scene calles for a wreck between my truck and a 57 Ford two door hardtop. Of course we do not collide or my truck wiould not be in the movie. The trailer is loaded with real cows, 100% Texas beef.

Pretty good pay. That's for you and your three vehicles? The cattle are probably getting normal extra pay: $64 a day for eight hours. That's what Brien and I got paid, and with from 200-400 extras, herding was the order of the day :-)

Max, you are the secone one to call me that today. The nick name seems to be sticking.

They called me back out again tonight for a night shoot. The female star and a man were riding in a car on the back of a low bed trailer, I followed in the Falcon. I am sure that all you will be able to see of the Falcon are the round headlights. Another hundred dollars for forty five minutes of work.

Pretty cool Michelle. the movie companies got so good at skipping back across the border before they paid people around here, NO ONE and I mean NO ONE in the antique car club will put their car in a movie any more. So get the cash is the #1 thing.

Who cleans the trailer?
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

That is cool! Is the trailer correct for the era of the truck?

The straight deck trailer would be correct for the period, but this trailer is not correct because of the length, to be totally correct the trailer would have had to be less than 40 feet long, this trailer was 58 feet. Combine the 58 foot trailer with the long wheel base of my truck and it gets a little hard to get around in the neighborhood, I really had to swing wide to get around corners.
