heavyweight bout continues

Post by ICEMAN6166 »

after several weeks of duking it out with the 4x4 dumptruck -bad repairs and wiring hacks to fix and redo along with getting the trans and pto installed- i finally got it started yesterday.

dont know if i did not put enough gas in the tank or the fuel pump was bad but i did run a couple bowls of old chainsaw gas thru it, once it started the 1st time was nice and quiet and ran as smooth as possible with the gas mix, which of course smoked a bit.

going to get a full can dumped in the tank and then we will see if it pumps up the fuel or not.

still have a bunch of stuff to do but i need to be able to move it under its own power.

round 12 i think
do not ask for who the bell tolls it tolls for me.

but was sunny and 60 today, i was a happy camper.

got the dump bed to go up and down today and moved it under its own power to over by the garden hose. needs to have the cooling flushed out and i think the thermostat is stuck closed. also blew a rear brake line.

then i changed out my 3 piece drivers side exhaust manifold for a 1 piece replacement on my 66 f250 4x4. getting ready to put that back on the road before winter its been 2 years since i last drove it regularly.. still need to do some other repairs there too.

good to hear on most counts. better you blew a line in the yard than with a yard in the back on the road.
if i had my way, i'd be up there helping you. i need a break from my version of real life. lol.
i guess i can go out and finish cutting up that bed for a "mini vacation".
keep up the good work man.
