So I went online to start trying to figure out what parts could be sourced for my 1966 F250. Below is what I have come up with so far. So far the parts seem pretty reasonable in price for new or re-manufactured parts. Can anyone add to what else would be needed? Here is what I think I will need to find:
It seems the only things that can't be sourced new are
-bracket for trucks with AC
-the pulleys
-the column
-the arm that goes from the gear box down to the steering assembly (what is that called? Pitman arm maybe?)

Sarq: Please be careful about the years - you have some serious mistakes there in your list.
'65/66 to /68 or so is the Bendix PS system; '70 - '79 is the Ford, and there are significant differences.
Further, the PS pump design and the hoses changed in '78, so that must be considered too.
The Bendix uses a longer steering column, a different pump, hoses and pitman arm. The '70 - '77 pump LOOKS identical, and will bolt up in place of the earlier pump, but is of a different type internally. The Bendix PS gearbox bolts up in place of the manual one, with only minor adjustment to the length of the steering column as it sits relative to the cab. It is almost impossible to find part for.
The Ford system is also a bolt-in, but the steering column must be shortened (meaning replaced) by about 2 inches. The pump is a slipper type, not a constant pressure system like the Bendix pump.
My advice is this: Buy a '70 - '79 donor truck with the engine, transmission and options you want. It will have ALL the parts you need for power steering, power disc brakes, brackets and pulleys. It will save you a lot of money, and more importantly, time and frustration.
Here is my setup, and it was all bolt-in, except for a few minor alterations:
I am getting 15 MPG at 70 MPH with a nearly stock 460 in my '66 F-100. And I have power to spare.
‘87 460, stock '86 heads - no porting
'87 C-6 from an '83 F-350 fifth wheeler, with '77 C-6 linkage (internal shift rod and kickdown)
'77 F-250 460 engine perches and mounts
'69 straight up cam gears, Cloyes double roller with RV type cam
Edelbrock Performer (not RPM) intake and 1470 750 CFM carb on a 1" phenolic spacer
'76 Duraspark II ignition
Stock aftermarket manifolds with a 2 1/2 inch dual exhaust, Flowmasters, copper gaskets
'93 serpentine belt brackets and pulleys
'78 power steering pump, hoses with ’93 PS pulley
'76 power steering box
’76 power steering pitman arm
’92 power steering cooler, mounted in the frame
'70 steering column
'66 radiator (re-cored)
'66 alternator with '93 serpentine pulley and fan
'86 water pump
'86 fan clutch with '77 7-blade fan
2.75 rear end
'83 stock rear sump oil pan, with stock oil pump, pickup tube and dipstick (includes main bearing bolt with stud to hold pickup in place)
Includes '93 A/C compressor, but A/C is not installed. (Needed for the serpentine belts.)
’76 F-150 3-inch rear brakes
’76 F-150 front disk brakes with power brake booster and dual chamber master cylinder.
The only modifications I had to make were:
Fabricate an accelerator cable bracket by combining an FE one with a 385 one.
Shorten the front driveshaft to adapt to the C-6 (with a conversion joint)
Change the C-6 internal shift linkage from a ’68 – ’79 C-6
Add a bracket for the brake light switch, and connect the original brake wiring back to it
Let me know if I can help.

Right, I am planning this around the Saginaw style pump which is why I will need a new steering column. Everything added to the parts list is designed for the Ford/Saginaw style steering gear box. The location I found all these parts is USAutoparts.com. Brakes will remain the same for now as it seems the 8 lug is tough to find a conversion and with the current power levels it will be sufficient with a booster.

Steering
I got the steering box and column off the parts truck. The steering column is off of a 1967-1972 truck, no hazard switch. It seems in decent shape, the loweer bearing appears tight and the upper part does not seem to have a lot of slop in it. I will try to get the steering box cleaned up tomorrow and post pictures. I also picked up the proper power steering firewall bracket.
You will need to clearance the drivers engine mount for the steering box or swap it for a later 390 mount.

Banjo is correct.I did the brakes and p/s swap on a 65 250.Just find a mid 70's donar and part out the rest of the truck. You may be able to pay for your conversion.
