I have a question about the 351w in my 66. I dont know which part of the water pump is the outlet or the inlet....its a standard flow pump. I installed a cross flow radiator. and its over heating. how does this thing flow?
is a cross flow radiator supposed to flow top to bottom of the radiator?
Also, is the inlet to the heater from the pump or from the intake manifold?
any help would be appreiciated!
standard rotation with cros flow radiator (will it work?)

A cross flow radiator doesn't flow top to bottom, but across from left (passenger side) to right (driver's side). The coolant exits out the bottom, though, on the right.
Is the engine all original in its setup, especially with regards to the belts and accessories?
For example, are you using a serpentine belt system on a V-belt driven (and possibly incorrect) pump? If so, then there is the possibility that the water pump is running opposite the usual rotational direction. Some serpentine systems run the water pump impeller "backwards" from the older belt driven pumps because of the way the serpentine belt has to wind its way around.
The inlet for the water pump is on the bottom, by the way.
As for the heater hoses, the outlet from the engine to the heater should be on the intake, somewhere near the thermostat housing.
