Heater - help with all of the knobs

There is the fan switch which you pull for defrost.

Under the console are two levers to pull.
- The right one for the water valve that lets hot water into the heater core.

- The one of the right?

Not sure how use all of them. Any experts?

Big Mike,ON A 65-66,the left knob under the dash (marked heat)pulled out opens your heater door to let(outside) air go through it and be heated when the (temp) knob is pulled out. There is no recirculate,just fresh air. sorry F7BIGJOB

Then there are the units that have an ac knob too. No real instruction manual, I just play with them to see how they work, lol. I just recently took my whole unit apart to replace the heater core. Pain in the butt since it did not appear as though it had ever been taken apart. All the foam sealing had all turned to dust long ago.

No apology needed out for outside air in for inside I leave mine out in the summer with water valve off to move air around too.

f100jim is right, there is no recirculated air position. Either outside air or none. Running the fan with this knob pushed in will make noise, but the only air you get is what leaks by the ancient seal on the door.

It made sense to me. Pull the knob, fresh air in, crack open a window, old air out.

So I was looking over mine tonight and it seems I have no "fresh air" option. it is either through the heater core or through the AC. There is no fresh air vent. Maybe those are only for the trucks that had the "Deluxe" fresh air system?
