instument panel pics opinions wanted..

Post by frdnut »

The wifes 65 had the white instrument panel in it when we got it..The problem(at least for me) is the mismatched aftermarket gauges in it..They are different sizes and different colours..This is not an easy fix as the tach is the full size of the factory cutout and there is no matching gauge the same size for the other side except for a speedometer...No real need for two speedo's and we don't want to get rid of the factory unit....So I thought I would just pick one up at a swap meet and use two smaller gauges.....So I picked up a nice one yesterday..It was the only one I found at the swap meet..BUT it is not white..I kinda like the argent and chrome colours but the wife is not so thrilled with it.....So we would love to see some pics of trucks with different coloured instrument panels...Also I am assuming this thing is ALL chrome underneath the silver/argent coloured paint?..If so has anyone removed all of the paint and had a chrome IP?

Hey ice do you have any of those vacuum gauges? My dash already has cutouts + the tach so I am looking for one of those gauges to fill it.

I might be interested if you do.

Powder coated and blacked out idiot lights.

media blasted and "near chrome" powder coated. Got all my guages to fit just fine :D Picture is before it was fully installed and guages calibrated. Tach in center is awesome.

I always like the 61-62 style - chrome dash with the white ribbed area in the backround. 66 Custom Cab with the sweep speedo is pure 60s poetry for the eye.
Aftermarket I tend to be partial to Haneline's engine turned piece with the black surround - not cheap but pretty.
1964 F 100 - I am going to do "something" with it.......
