Other than the battery I'd say it looks perfect. Not my choice of colors but it sure is a thing of beauty.

Its a '40 Robert. 41 has different trim on the hood and the tailgate doesn't say V8 , since in the states a '41 could have had a six.

J.C.: What were the original beds? Steel?

This was an unusual color combination that I shot at Pate. Had forgotten about the different colored fenders. Don't think this is original color. Most I've seen have been solid, usually black.

Wow, I love our Slicks but the 40 model both cars and trucks were Ford's design department's best work! IMHO

Gerald. Yes they were an Oak subfloor with a steel cover

The 2 tones (black fenders only if I recall, never 3 colours like this one) were a late-year thing on the trucks, to try and boost sales. I have never seen a car with different colored fenders.

I have seen people used tinfoil for the same purpose. I believe it in both instances a case of "you have to believe for it to work!
