I'm really thinking I want to take my T5 out and put in an automatic. Just curious if anyone knows if they are about the same length so I wont have to mess with shortening or getting another drive shaft. All input is appreciated

What is your T-5 out of? What kind of auto are you looking for, late model, C-4, FMX?

Fox Mustangs used different length drive shafts for AODs and T5s. That said, if you go with an AOD you are probably going to need a different shaft. I do not know which one was longer, the AOD or T5.
When we put T5s into early Mustangs, we have to shorten the shaft about 3/4" if that tells you anything. (Like if it came with a C4 and we put in a T5, had to cut 3/4" off the shaft)
I guess that means a C-4 is 3/4" shorter than a T5!

Different years of T-5s have different Input shafts.

He has the early shorter one. Said it was 93 Mustang, so it is the most common one. 3/4" longer than a C4.
