show me your guages

Ive been looking, and im un sure of what I want to do with my cluster. I have a sweep cluster in my 66, its looking pretty beat.

Im not sure if I want to clean it up and paint it silver, maybe throw some more guages on the side as in oil pressure and volts. Then maybe even replace the temp and fuel guage since they have been acting up and I think they are both bad. Yes ive changed the voltage thingy behind the cluster.

Im also not sure if im digging the shiney repops that are in D.C. So can some people put up some pictures of there cleaned up sweeping clusters? thanks guys.

I replaced my sweeping cluster with a round full gauge set out of an early Bronco and got a Bezil out of the bone yard. cleaned and painted, stripped the aluminum around the cluster and ordered white face overlays for mine.....



this is how I "fixed" my sweep cluster.... I like the round set ...

Speedo, tach, oil pressure, coolant temp, fuel level, volt, vacuum/boost, fuel pressure, a/f ratio.

I kept the sweep bezel but just sprayed it black. the bezel was good, the plastic glass behind it is whats crappy. I wish they sold the new bezel pieces separately.

I used a chrome cluster out of a F-800 with vacuum and tach.

maybe i worded it the wrong way. im looking for pictures of the other cluster, not the big round one. I saw your mainer, thats one of the few ive been able to dig up on the search.

What did you use for the billet part? What was the original application?

what was the panel that holds the guage assembly made of? and what is the finish on it?

This would look awesome in my 64 when it comes time

This is the only one I have on the 'puter right now. The left side will have an air pressure gauge. I've got three of these chrome panels cleaned and ready for use now.

Thanks Ken!, I felt sure it was a Billet Specialties dash panel, but I don`t seem to be able to find a link showing it!, I`ll keep looking tho,
the panel behind it is a standard panel with a metal blank covering the old holes, and is painted with what I called Cranebrook Chrome!
better know as Charcoal Hammer tone paint, that stuff is great!. I am thinking of changing the back panel to polished Aluminium or S/Steel.

Here's my gauge panel. I cut out the side hole indentions and had the panel powder coated in a chrome finish. Then I installed a couple of Classic Instruments gauges in the holes. I'm pleased, through it turned out pretty nice.

The two side gauges (voltmeter and oil pressure) are 2 1/16" offerings from Autometer's Traditional Chrome series... the the mini tach is a 2 5/8" unit from the same series.

Here's my Dakota Digital VHX set. They will probably end up in my Uni.
One of our local members made a plexiglass panel that i really like! It would be a good match for the double-DIN blacked-out touch panel in my low-riding 65.
