Yup, I'm with cooter, width is a deal breaker for me on the crown vic, regardless of how low buck it may be, if I can't run the wheels I WANT, it is more of a compromise than I care to make.
Dakota would be my first pic, with Jag in second place........

For cheap the Crown Vic wins but I do not like the width like everyone says and your limited to VERY few wheels. I do not mind not having a dish but how many stock looking wheels can you run with NO dish to them? I haven't found any yet. I know that Cragar SS wheels work but don't know the exact dimension on it off the top of my head.
I say Dodge Dakota. The specs are built for our trucks from Industrial Chassis and it is a truck front end and not a car. Many people have ran both and I hear pros and cons from both but less cons from the Dakota front end. My only issue with the Dakota is the major cost factor once you factor in steering components, suspension and brakes, etc etc. It adds up QUICK even if you get junk yard parts.
Just my :2cents:

Just out of curiosity, is the new bolt on Crown Vic (2003-2009) setup the same width as the older weld in stub type?

I am a dakota guy. I have the old kit. If you run an FE or dgb, then you have to mod the rack.
