"What A Buffoon"

Post by Shadow »

This Idiot Not Only Bought Into The Whole Mayan 2012' Doomsday Scenario But He Built An Arc, And Spent His Life Savings Building It. The Guy Could Have Taken His Life Savings To The "Argosy" Or One Of The Other River Boat Casinos. He Could Have Gambled Away His Life Savings, And One Of Those River Boats Would Have Probably Been Way More Sea Worthy Than This Hulk. LOL.. http://rt.com/news/chinese-noah-arc-apocalypse-809/

He should call it " Venice", the water will probably come half way up the first deck before it floats, and as Joe said, and then flip over!

Actually The Mayan Calender Or "Dresden Codex" Was Very Accurate. After The Spanish Decimating Almost Every Remnant Of Mayan Culture, Pope Gregory 1st Gave Us The Very Inaccurate "Gregorian" Calendar That We Are Stuck With To This Day. The Mayan Calender Simply Charts The Procession Of The Equinox. We Are Nearing The End Of The Age Of Pisces. And Will Be Entering Aquarius. Apparently This Guy In China Didn't Get The Memo. LOL.....

Well compared to the Gregorian calendar when measuring the solar year the Maya calendar year (I believe called the Haab?) is considerably less accurate. The Gregorian calendar for solar years has an error rate of 1 day for every 3,300 years. Even the Julian calendar beats to Mayan one with an error rate of 1 day every 128 years. The Mayan solar calendar in comparison has an error rate of 1 day every 4 years.
Although their solar calendar had 365 days while the Gregorian has 365.25 days roughly. Any solar calendar wont work without leap years unless they ignore the seasons. I've also read that the Mayans knew their solar calendar was out of time with the solar year and did nothing to fix it.
But anyway my previous statement is completely wrong because I made the assumption that the Dec 21 date was based on the Haab...when in actually its based on their long count calendar...

Also Shadow is the end of the age of pisces and beginning of aquarius why they modified the zodiac dates n such? I remember seeing an article on them changing the dates but never looked much into it.

Some Of This Stuff Is So Esoteric That It Can Be Pretty Confusing. You Have The Babylonian Kabbalistic System, The Alexandrian Egyptian And The Hermetic Gregorian. Supposedly It's Around 2150-Years Per Zodiacal Sign But Even That Is The Subject Of Some Debate. Here's A Good Page That Includes The Mayan Long Count With Comparisons....

Seems to me the Chinese guy could have bought a houseboat for $160K that would be seaworthy. Although I'm no expert...my philosophy is "If it floats, f@(ks, or flys, it'll give you nothing but trouble.

Thanks guys, for the education on calendars!
