Ive been looking at this ad since Aug, the price is slowly coming down.

Im not so sure its a 66. I emailed the seller and asked if he has a title, in Georgia only a bill of sale is required when a vehicle is 25 years old.

Is the front a straight axle?

If so could I put a F250 axle in so I can use 8 lug wheels?

I dont need it and dont know what I would use it for, but I like it.

It says in the ad it's an automatic, that would be somewhat rare in a one ton, particularly behind a six cyllinder?? (jeez, I kinda sounded like a Mopar guy, that's scary!!)

it has a 66 grille 66 doors and a 240 or 300 6 so id say its a 66

the front axle is a straight axle and i suppose if you ewanted to you could swap in a 61-64 f250 front and a later rear end to have 8 lug wheels but personally its a lot of work for no good reason other than having 8 lug wheels and if your not using it every day why bother

I have a '66 F-350 that looks pretty much like that one - came from a guy in Dalton. He pulled a gooseneck livestock trailer with his, and hauled hay once in a while. 7x10 metal flatbed - I added wood sides.

Yes, the 1 tons had the straight axle and the older rounded inner fenders up front. They also had the raised floor with the step at the cab doors. Mine has the 300 six in front of an NP435 four speed, and pretty much does 45mph top end unless you really rev high.

I had the vacuum assist rebuilt for the brakes - was not easy to find parts. Mine has 17.5" wheels too - odd size.

Nice driving truck and the flatbed is handy for hauling bulk loads. Lots of torque but low highway speed.
Someday I might swap out the driveline for something faster, but for now it is good enough for short local hauls.

id watch the rear end gearing. mine has 5.87 and its been a bit of a problem. swapping out gears isnt all that ideal and only gets you so far because you need a new carrier
