I bought my 65 F100 3 years ago right after I turned 20. Its original I6 was replaced at some point with a 352. The odometer read 10k so I have no idea how many miles are actually on it, but the driver seat is quite worn. It barely ran, the Indy three speed make shift shifter liked to stay somewhere between 2nd and 3rd, and the alternator wasn't working. Luckily my great uncle, who has a 63 unibody, knew enough to help me get it driveable. The alternator got fixed, the shifter adjusted, and everything got a once over and tuned. So it runs very well, it just looks like I pulled it out of a trash yard.
After we finally got it in running condition I ended up getting deployed, which helped me stock pile funds so that it was like Christmas shopping for my slick when I got home
(Truck in its new home. With the seat in the bed)
So far this Summer I've gotten a full size steering wheel put back on (I dont know how the guy before me drove it with that tiny little 13inch racing wheel. He told me it used to be used on a drag strip which I thought was odd)
Popped off the peep mirrors and got a side view mirror
Found a banged up tailgate (only 25 bucks. couldnt pass it up)
Put new head lights on it
Ripped out the carpet and seat and put in some sound deadener on the floor and inside the doors
Floor is not is very good shape...whole lotta patching
got some crappy speakers out of a wrecked tempo...also got one under the dash
sound deadener on the floor
Other than that I haven't done too much too it. I usually drive it 3 or 4 times a week, and I love it. Though I'm not sure if the looks I get are from it being an old obnoxiously loud truck or cause of its beat down appearance? Probably a combo of both.
Anyway I'm hoping to drop a T18 into it next week (that indy shifter HAS to go) and will hopefully be able to find a place in CNY that will shorten my driveshaft. If I can't I guess I'll just have to order a new one.
