I saw this last week, priced at like 650.00 to start, then somebody asked about other pics, then he seen interest in it then a Ranger then priced shot up in the 3500.00, then is the last 20 minutes went from 2785.00 price then as I was e-mailing somebody back and in less than a minute it went to 875.00, Sorry people like that I would stay away from, truck is a cab/chassis so wheelbase I would think is different, he even says every time you turn the wheel the cab moves

might have 100% feedback, just wonder how many would not really speak up on how they feel ?

Re: This is why some people shy from E-Bay
I know a lot of people view ebay as a sort of no man's land full of liars and cons. I sell my stuff on other sites like Etsy, and can actually get away with charging more than I could get away with on Ebay, just because of the rep ebay has, and a lot of people won't buy anything from there.

I have no problem with eBay, though I haven't sold anything there in a long time and have not bought anything particularly expensive. There are great deals if you look carefully.

I have bought and sold there too. I don't have a problem with it, but it is definitely a "buyer beware" type market.

Re: This is why some people shy from E-Bay
The "new" eBay is considerly different from the original.I have found that most of the estabilished sellers will go out of their way to " make things right" just to preserve their eBay reputation.
That being said, I have yet to buy any vehicle by the "bidding" process although I have purchased several found thru the auctions. I would think the percentage of vehicles successfully sold at culmination of the auction process is rathrr small.
It still is an excellent selling and buying tool IMO.
I don't care what the vehicle is; if it is not still coveed by a valid factory warranty, I am going to spend the hundred or so dollars to have it checked out!
I know this doesn't apply to Tom's purchases or my bargain basement items. That is one of the advantages of these forums; if needed, there is probably a knowledgeable member nearby who might be coerced or bribed into checking such potential purchases.

Re: This is why some people shy from E-Bay
What my issues is that because of some of the shady sellers on there , makes when we try to sell something it's hard for someone to believe what we are selling,, I have seen sellers when they are selling a vehicle will lower the reserve down till it hits, just like this camper he changing prices to get a sucker to bite,, or like this especially on a Ford Truck numbers matching
they think a Ford truck is like a GM Car with exact matching # or these Barn Finds is a new deal, or like when take pictures with a snow covered vehicle, I can tell what happens when the snow melts
or 4 or 5 pics, the pics is not that much extra $ so spend the money to sell it, I am sorry I am starting to Rant somebody slap me please

Re: This is why some people shy from E-Bay
I would have a very hard time buying a vehicle on eBay. I've bought and sold a lot on eBay, but I've never purchased anything over $200, since the risk is too high.

My favorites are the Craigslist vehicles with little description, no pics and no price. Of course sometimes there is a logical explanation:" My wife says to sell it and I'm trying!"

I sold a 1937 Chrysler Royal on ebay in 2006. It was an okay transaction- signed all the paperwork, the guy loaded the car and took off. I get a phone call from some other dude in 2010 asking me to sign another paper… cause the guy i sold the car to, never followed up with dmv and then sold the car again…. apparently i was still the legal owner of the car. I was in maine, and the guy was in oregon. I rarely go on ebay- but i stay away from craigslist!
The months may change, but I am always APRIL
