Tire slasher.

Mowed at the shop a couple days ago and noticed some of my tires on the trucks I had setting around were flat. So yesterday, I went to air these up. NO luck, someone had taken a knife and punched holes in the tires. They got five tires in all, and I'm lucky they didn't get more. As is, I now have a couple of good tires ruined and some that were holding air that won't anymore. I used these tires to be able to move the trucks around as needed. Called the cops and seems we have some youngsters playing games, they just can't catch them. If I catch them, there will be some unhappy parents. Buying 5 new tires to replace old junk ones should make them keep better tabs on their hellyuns. Not that I lost all that much but tires that hold air are hard to come by for the purpose of just being able to move an old truck. I may have to install a motion light and or camera with night vision.

We had a serial slasher here in Portland--mostly hitting Subarus, Prius's, SUVs, 4x4s, etc.

There's plenty of stereotypical cars owned by stereotypical people (especially here in Portland) who annoy me for a variety of reasons. But slash their tires? Man, that's going much, much too far. Messing with a person's vehicle is just plain cowardly.


I hope you catch them, and I hope they learn a valuable lesson.

By the way, if you are using the tires for storage only you may be able to patch the sidewall punctures satisfactorily with a normal patch.....if it is the usual knife blade insertion. Most tire places won't touch sidewall damage anymore but it may be possible at an older shop to explain the tires aren't going on the road.


Slashers need to have their own tires slashed right before they try to make a getaway from their next crime.
