15x10 Rear Wheels?

Post by Badluck 13 »

My '66 is a short bed "Style Side" and I currently have 15x8 Rocket Racing Injector series wheels on the rear with 3.75 back spacing with 255/70-15 tire and all clears just fine but my question is has anyone put 15x10 on the rear without any issues and is so what is the back spacing? I would like to shoehorn 15x10 Injectors on the rear (only offer a 3.00 and 3.75 backspace) for a cleaner looking dish and I really am kinda naïve on figuring wheel spacing/clearance etc.
If possible I would like to run 29 10. 15 pie crust cheaters and I really don't want to modify the rear opening lip if at all possible and also doing a DJM 3" drop to the front only... and if this has been asked before please forgive me as I tried a search and couldn't find anything....

Thanks in advance

The rim is 2" wider with the same or less backspacing so everything else equal, the tire will move 2" to 2.75" closer to the outer fender. Just grab a tape measure and see if that will work.
It will be about the same or farther on the inside and the section width of the tire should be pretty close so there should be no problem there. A 10" rim may be too wide for that tire, though.

That should get you started in the process of learning how to measure for fit. Also youtube is full of vids on the subject.
