Custom Cab door handles?

Post by factorystock »

I realize that there was a Custom Cab option in 63 and 64 which deleted the body trim moulding and script emblem on door and replaced them with the Custom Cab door handle plaques. Why wasn't this option also availale in 65 and 66?

It was a one year only option.. think maybe 62. They are available new from many sources, LMC Carpenter and our very own bulldog tom

I like the idea but think they look too busy when you have the script on the door right beside them, although many have used then that way. Great paint saver

I think using both items on the doors to advertise your truck being a custom cab is a bit much (just MY opinion though).
Some PO of my 61 even used part of the custom cab door script and put it on the glove box door! I guess it really doesn't look too bad though...

the cc door handles have a C3TB part #. they were used on 63 and 64 models with the thinner trim but i am quite sure you could have got them on a 65 or 66 if you wanted.

i have not seen the cc door script on any 63 or 64s i ran across just 61-62 and 65-66

Ice my 64 had it and I have seen 3 dead stock 63 custom cabs with the door script too.
I think the door handles were used when there was NO side trim. But only Fordboy Pete or BullDog Tom can tell us for sure.
